Disabled Children's Register

An invitation . . .

To help to improve services for disabled children by joining the Disabled Children's Register. The more the Council and other providers know about the needs of disabled children, the better services we can plan and deliver.

What is the Register and what does it do?

The Disabled Children’s Register contains and collects information about disabled children up to the age of 18, who live on the Isle of Wight. Using this information, people who work in health, voluntary organisations and the council’s children’s services can look at what help is already available for disabled children, and how services can be improved for the future. Knowing how many disabled children live on the Island, and what their disabilities are, will help us provide better services. But we can only do this with your help. By joining the Register you’ll be helping us plan and deliver better services to every child on the Register, and their families and carers.

Of course, being on the Register is entirely voluntary, and it is entirely confidential. But the more people join, the easier it will be to provide services that more closely meet an individual child’s needs.
